On 9-7-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Mother of Georgia suspect is said to have called school before shooting, warning of ‘emergency’", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:
How do you as a school official or a law enforcement officer risk your reputation or humanitarian respect for the inherent rights of others when they are described by adults, (even parents), over a phone as offering verbal threats or exhibiting aberrant behavior they've heard or seen but you have not?
How do you, after the fact, respond to questions from a source wanting explanation you know would put the answers in the public domain with a spin you'd have no control over? Or, put out summaries of evidence that the very release may offer grounds jeopardizing the outcome of a trial to obtain control over further incident?
We're a society that demands our curiosity and lust to know more than others must be satisfied. And willing to make up a lot to appear knowledgeable. You can read it between the lines of comments made here.
But the fact remains, no amount of preventive action works better than having a lot less lethal weapons and a lot less accessibility to putting them in the wrong hands. A fact that the politically unmotivated can't abide.
