On 7-31-24, the Washington Post penned an article about Trump's appearance before the black journalist conference in Chicago as: "Trump continues Black voter push but faces new challenge with Harris", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Well, the real Trump just stood up and showed you what he is, really. A most unqualified presidential candidate that lacks moral and intellectual character and is unable to truthfully excuse himself from having the most repugnant personality traits ever shown by a political candidate, for any office.

On 7-24-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion: "It’s necessary to tame the national debt. And surprisingly doable", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

I've always considered our "check the box" Federal Income Tax annual form that allows taxpayers to designate a dollar amount for the Presidential campaign fund to be a lost cause. I continue to think that the "Citizens United" decision by our Supreme Court was a gawd-awful decision that makes this seem like a travesty to those of us who want better campaign finance rules but are frustrated by seeing our Congressional representatives doing so little.

Why not consider making that designation box apply to the US Treasury for use in reducing our national debt? Or even be able to designate any portion of your tax refund to retiring the debt and have it applied as a non-profit contribution credit?  Citizens would certainly have a better feeling for reducing the debt than competing with "Citizen (???) United" corporations that contribute those big bucks to candidates. Besides it would give them the feeling they were doing more for the financial state of the nation than the insufficient efforts being shown by their Congressional elected officials.

On 7-22-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Harris won’t preside over Netanyahu’s speech to Congress", and on the date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

There's no protocol issue here. Any foreign government representative who is merely addressing the political opportunity (and photo op) of a Congressional gathering takes their chances on who gives a damn.

On 7-19-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion "The old Trump opened the door for Democrats to defeat the new Trump", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Candidate Trump went off teleprompter. Just like he goes off-line on everything. The man hasn't got an ounce of brain on how to manage this country and proves it every time he speaks. He's a flim-flam carnival barker who will sell you a magic potion of absurdities. Don't forget how he feathered his own nest the last time he stole an election and had the keys to the Treasury.

"If I were to run, I'd run as a Republican. They're the dumbest group of voters in the country. They believe anything on Fox News. I could lie, and they'd still eat it up. I bet my numbers would be terrific".  (Quoting a comment made by Donald J. Trump in an interview with People magazine in 1998)

On 7-19-24, the Washington Post penned the Analysis: "Fact-checking Trump on Day 4 of 2024 Republican National Convention", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

"While Trump frequently claims tariffs are paid by countries, that’s wrong; the cost of the tariffs generally are passed onto consumers, so it is a form of tax." (Said the article on Trump's lies at the RNC.)

Why isn't this repeated again and again, and corporation middle-man distributors forced to admit it's their way of doing business?

On 7-19-24, the Washington Post penned the article, "Election officials frustrated Trump allies suddenly care about rhetoric", and on the date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Remember Trump's apprenticeship as president? How he seldom got from his White House residency to the office before 10 AM. How he would spend more time listening to talking heads on Fox and their conservative affiliates than listening to his own chosen advisers. How his staff were constantly challenged with damage control for his senseless and crass statements.

Those aren't made-up facts folks. Insiders to his administration have made a record in books and in written articles that it was the way it was. And it's a real sore point that the other party folk can't find a way to put those points of failed administrative ability and incompetence on the campaign table.

On 7-18-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion for: "J.D. Vance takes the stage", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

The fact is nobody in politics is asking for friends, only useful idiots. The Republican National Convention is an example, the Democratic National Convention will be the next.

Vance takes you through his rise from poverty victim to becoming an attorney by the strength of government subsidized funding only to become what? A government subsidized public servant. And now he's on a staged platform asking you to be his friend by hating everything the other party does? And that's going to solve problems? Well, that doesn't make me feel very useful.

On 7-14-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion: "What do we want to do, America?", and on that date the Enlighten Prisoner responded thus:

Well, first off, we need to cure this country's blood lust for celebrity worship. We're all just products of the same biological creation. Stop making stupid people famous!

On 7-13-24, the Washington Post penned the article, "Trump aides script convention to soften his image, but face challenges", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Have you forgotten already how many of Trump's administrative staff in his apprentice role as President were able to say from an insider point of view that this reign is not at all professional, transparent, nor competent. I haven't.

On 7-13-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Biden heading to Michigan for rally after high-stakes news conference", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Trump spokesman Steven Cheung wrote. “The fact remains that ultimately they’re not just coming after him, they’re coming after Americans, and President Trump is standing in their way.” (As was quoted from the article)

I'm an American and I'll be damned if I see any evidence of this Biden administration coming after me. But I damned well saw the Trump administration weaponize their government agencies when they had 4 years with the keys to government. Steven Cheung's a pimp that wants to fanaticize you into the Trump brothel of liars and thieves.

On 7-11-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion that "Biden must address these concerns at Thursday’s news conference", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

President Obama effectively joked about Trump's absurd personality. With four years of Trump's absurd conduct as a President, why aren't Joe's speech writers coaching him into what needs to happen. We shouldn't be taking Trump seriously when his words and actions bespeak such buffoonery.

On 7-10-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion from Jennifer Rubin, "About time: Senators demand special counsel to investigate Clarence Thomas", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Jenifer's analysis is spot on. The reason for our country's two-party system is for one of them to be a check and balance enforcement for suspected malfeasance by the other.

The claim that this is politically motivated, and an unlawful use of process is little but still another Republican whine to deflect from their inability to act on the very evidence that makes this action necessary.

The Republican's gross inability to even act on the mountain of evidence for the corruption, malfeasance, and abuse of process for Trump's administration has put a stain on the values of our two-party political accountability. Trump's deflection defense has always been when accused, answer by accusing the accuser loud and long.  A lesson not overlooked by Republican leadership.

On 7-6-24, the Washington Post Editorial Board penned an Opinion that: "The Supreme Court is making big changes to how the government work", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:
The idea that Trump, a now convicted felon, may still be a candidate for a governmental public service position because the Constitution does not state he cannot is pure rubbish.

This and all the other malfeasance things he's done, including an unhinged personality that would indicate mental incompetency, of course were not included within the Constitution. It was because our founding fathers were of a class of aristocratic residents who properly thought no one of such ill-fitting personality would dare consider themselves capable of such office.

So, it's up to us, the electorate, to faithfully enforce that truth. After all, a candidate for the office of President who continues to conduct a campaign strategy of no given platform other than mean-spirited criticism of opponents has already told us they lack credentials.

On 7-4-24, the Washington Post penned the article: "Biden team seizes on Independence Day to try to refocus presidential race", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

There's quite a difference between campaign performance and presidential performance. When you put the truth and transparency issues of Trump's presidential performance on the table you begin to realize he's just a flim-flam carnival man. And let's not forget how many of his white house appointments were tainted with malfeasance while his adult advisors left out of frustration. And don't forget how many of the previous campaign advisors became criminal targets and he had to pardon. And lastly, don't forget how little trouble followed the Biden flag.

No, there's way too much baggage in Trump's runway persona. By comparison the Biden Administration and his appointed staff's presidential performance has run circles around Trump's broken-down performance wagon of malfeasance baggage.

Even if Biden decides he doesn't want to try again, anybody he picks to endorse would be a refreshing alternative to the Felon from Queens.  After all, Biden's long-time experience with governmental operations would make his choice a working fit while Trump's choices were always based on political loyalty first to Dear Leader.
