On 6-30-24, the Washington Post penned the article: "Biden aides plotted debate strategy for months. Then it all collapsed."  And on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

It's been an agonizing time since the debate. Putting up with all the talking and written accounts by "self-appointed" experts in what happened, why, and the effects on our future by mere speculators. Yes, speculators who were little but spectators, but harbor some illusion of insight.

Still, this account by Tyler Pager, is memorable because it encapsulates why the ball is in President Biden's court. And reminds us we can only anticipate what happens next. I just wish the media would take the hint. Shut up and listen.

This country established the courts as an alternative to unbridled crowd protests.  Our faith in that method of resolution has been sharply undercut by decisions issued by this Supreme Court, dominated by an ideologic of political activism that seems to mock so much of the electorate.  And compounded by reports of undue influence coming for certain Justices of that political sway.

The courts have no powers of enforcement.  Aye, there is no police force that follows up to enforce court decision.  That action goes back to the Executive Branch, and they have an almost unbridled right to enforce at the level of their understanding for the decision.  In these divisive times, a very dangerous trend.

Our country is in the throes of a chaos and badly in need of reasoned voices, not the cheap theatrics of for-profit talking heads.    (Random words of the Enlightened Prisoner 6-28-24)

On 6-27-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Supreme Court blocks controversial Purdue Pharma opioid settlement", and on the date the Enlighted Prisoner responded thus:

I see no difference from the greed and opportunistic path taken by the Sackler family when they realized they had a captive market and those actions for the illicit drug Cartels of manufacturing and distributing to a captive market.

But the real problem is still, how do you convince the captive market what a poor disservice they are inflicting on themselves by supporting such activity from a source who could care less about their problem.

After all what is the definition of Cartel? An association of manufacturers or suppliers with the purpose of maintaining prices at a high level and restricting competition.

On 6-26-24, the Washington Post penned an article: "Who is ahead in 2024 presidential polls right now?", and on that date the Enlighted Prisoner responded thus:

Trump is little but a bit player, expressing his narcissistic defenses which entails keeping away from his ego, anything that would diminish it.

He's the greatest mental incompetent we've ever consider for this office, bar none.

On 6-21-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Supreme Court upholds gun ban for domestic-violence restraining orders", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

"Justice Clarence Thomas, who authored the Bruen decision, was the lone dissenter on Friday, writing that “not a single historical regulation justifies the statute at issue.” (as stated in the article)

Justice Thomas has not only shown his lack of judicial knowledge by this statement but has also acknowledged his total lack of understanding for the public's safety in regulating firearms from being in the wrong hands.

“As the Justice Department argued, and as the Court reaffirmed today, that commonsense prohibition is entirely consistent with the Court’s precedent and the text and history of the Second Amendment,” Garland said in a statement. (as stated in the article)

And there you have it. The 2nd Amendment does not interfere with purchase or possession, but it has no bearing on government's right to regulate purchase or possession by those who have, or harbor, unworthy characteristics of firearm use.

On 6-17-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Biden campaign launches advertising attack on ‘convicted criminal’ Trump", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

I don't know how much more you can say about Trump's qualifications for the office of President than, he's a disgraced former President, his administration has been rated as one of the lowest performing in our history by those who understand the judging criteria, and he's disrespected by those governments who are consider allies, and seems to attract praise from government leaders who conspire in efforts of propaganda to destroy America.

Supporting that type of unworthy candidacy is hardly the stuff of those who care about how this country should be managed.

On 6-16-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Biden, Obama warn of Trump dangers in star-studded L.A. fundraiser", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Once said by a knowing person, "The secret of the demagogue is to make himself as stupid as his audience so that they believe they are as clever as he."

Trump's certainly nailed that one.

On 6-16-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion that: "The Hunter Biden and Trump trials were a litmus test. Only the Bidens passed", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Yes, President Biden is a "Man for all Seasons". Disgraced President Trump is a mere child in search of a candy store.

On 6-15-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Man dies at 85, comes out (Gay) in his obituary: ‘I’ll forever Rest in Peace’, and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

How fortunate we are as a society to have the likes of Edward Thomas Ryan as an example of how we could do better in our respects for each other. Mr. Ryan lived with a personal difficulty his entire life but showed his respects for us much better than some would have shown him. God bless your bravery Edward Thomas Ryan, and please, do Rest in Peace.

On 6-12-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Trump seeks to lock arms with Hill Republicans on politics and policy", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Apprentice President Trump was fired by the electorate. The cause was a shoddy and incompetent administration. His cult of useful idiots must have a short-term memory. Guess it's up to us to remind them again.

On 6-10-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Trump to address group that wants abortion ‘eradicated entirely’, and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

The fact that Trump would even accept another of his propaganda opportunities with such a group is evidence enough of his insecurities with his own platform of incompetent governance ability.

On 6-6-24, the Washington Post penned an Analysis that: "Judge Aileen Cannon tosses another curveball in the Trump cases", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

The US Senate has a Judiciary Committee, and its chairman is Democratic Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois. When the GOP had its Senate majority (during Trump's incompetent administration) the committee was responsible for putting in place the many Federalists picked judges, for both the Supreme Court and lesser federal judicial positions.

Now we're subject to almost daily examples of the federal judiciary conducting business in a way that borders on political extremism and ethical misconduct. Yet the check and balance system for protecting this most sacred part of our unelected authority for the Constitutional administration of federal government has taken the appearance of being bench sitters. Why?

Fear of controversy? Too entrenched for the power benefits of reelection? Afraid of Trump and the cult's bully tactics? Or (D), all of the above? Or, better yet, let's just stall until we find out which way the election winds blow?

Yep, I'm a member of the electorate and I'm damned unhappy and embarrassed by the character, (or lack thereof), of certain elected (and appointed) members of government's current civil servants. It almost takes the appearance of there being a 5th Column at work. After all, the January 6th Insurrection couldn't have happened without thought and planning.

On 6-4-24, the Washington Post penned an article titled: ‘I will not be intimidated’: Garland to rebut contempt threats from House GOP, and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

"The attempts to discredit our basic governmental agencies that ensure our security represents the goals of those totalitarian governments with inimical designs to destroy our Constituted form of government.

You must ask yourself why those goals are also being represented by a faction of our citizens in concert with governmental civil servants."

On 6-3-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion by Jennifer Rubin that: "Democrats must defend Trump’s guilty verdict against MAGA jury denial", and on the date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

"The MAGA crowd has moved from attempting to delegitimize an election to attempting to delegitimize the judicial system — from defaming election workers to defaming jurors. In keeping with other fascist movements, the MAGA cult attempts to undermine every institution and person resisting its authoritarian leader." (Says Columnist Jennifer Rubin)

That's about the clearest road map of the MAGA herd's derangement put in understandable words I've read yet. Thanks Ms. Rubin.
