On 5-29-24, the Washington Post penned the article: "Justice Alito tells Congress he will not recuse from Jan. 6-related cases", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:
28 U.S. Code § 455 - Disqualification of justice, judge, or magistrate judge
(a)Any justice, judge, or magistrate judge of the United States shall disqualify himself in any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned. (found in comment)
The language of impartiality "might" reasonably be questioned seems to be the favorable opinion held by Justice Alito in his personal letter. However, as a US Citizen I take issue with Justice Alito's ability to judge his own situation.
Such an opinion would not hold up as satisfactory to a voir dire examination for jury duty and does not bode well for Alito's impartiality here. Justice Alito's conduct in the matter is reprehensible.
