On 5-31-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion, "Wile E. Coyote finally catches the Road Runner", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

"USA Today attempts to keep track of how many lawsuits Trump and his businesses have been involved in, either as plaintiffs or defendants. The count is at 4,095." (As quoted in the article)

Seems to be an honest attempt to keep score on an individual's track record of damaging background evidence. It appears that Trump's political business, his personal business history, and his moral business are overwhelming proven to be riff with corruptive practice.

You don't get a record of court actions in this country when you practice a lifestyle of honesty and fairness. Which should be our criteria for those making Presidential decisions.

On 5-29-24, the Washington Post penned the article: "Justice Alito tells Congress he will not recuse from Jan. 6-related cases", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

28 U.S. Code § 455 - Disqualification of justice, judge, or magistrate judge

(a)Any justice, judge, or magistrate judge of the United States shall disqualify himself in any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned. (found in comment)

The language of impartiality "might" reasonably be questioned seems to be the favorable opinion held by Justice Alito in his personal letter. However, as a US Citizen I take issue with Justice Alito's ability to judge his own situation.

Such an opinion would not hold up as satisfactory to a voir dire examination for jury duty and does not bode well for Alito's impartiality here. Justice Alito's conduct in the matter is reprehensible.

On 5-27-24, the Washington Post penned an article that, "Trump’s N.Y. trial is not televised, but TV played a starring role", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

But it was Trump's media time that was the most useless. Always with the character assassinations, always condemning the trial system. Never a word about overwhelming evidence of criminal behavior and offering nothing of exculpatory evidence value. Verily the sign of true guilt.

On 5-27-24, the Washington Post penned the article: "Trump told donors he will crush pro-Palestinian protests, deport demonstrators", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

It's called, "Candidate for President - FOR SALE". Trump does little and has little to promote his credentials, just self-serving greed.

On 5-25-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Special counsel seeks court order limiting Trump’s false claims about FBI", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Trump's continuing theater for denigrating any person, agency, or governmental representative that identifies his personality and thought deficiencies, (and many they are), have become boorish. The reason is evident. The very utterances of the man must first be considered as his common patten of habitual lying.

I just have a hard time understanding how his MAGA "Useful Idiots" are able to treat them so differently.

On 5-25-24, the Seattle Times penned an opinion by Danny Westneat that: "Some candidates in WA are printing their protests right on the ballot", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Thanks Danny. The political campaign designs in the country really are off the rails of societal decency and putting labels on people is thoughtful laziness. When you spend all that good faith money for just theater that denigrates your opponent instead of offering your take on how qualifications matter you've already demonstrated how unqualified you must be.

Afterall, neither party has a monopoly on good judgement, and it is essential to exchange ideas with curiosity and respect. Disrespect of fellow citizens is little but showing off your lack of self-control and thoughtlessness.

On 5-22-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion that: "A second Trump presidency would be a disaster for the news media", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

What an uninteresting headline for this story. You make it sound like Trump is going to rid us of the bad-guy media. Well, considering your Mandy Pandy attitude you haven't got enough creditability to generate much sympathy for that point of view.

How about appealing to a higher form of the media's true purpose. You are the protecters of truth, transparency and accountability and every mean- spirited totalitarian form of government conceived on this planet has as its first priority the elimination or control of its media. Quit this damned tiptoe reporting.

On 5-19-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion: "We’re letting Trump distract us from his corrupt, anti-climate agenda", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Trump's hyperbole campaign claims are nothing but headline grabbers. The media only sees the entertainment value in headlining these stupid claims when they should assist the public in validating what they represent.

In most cases Trump's claims to rid us of these democratic created hindering regulations ignore the fact that most would be immediately unenforceable due to legitimate products of legislation that can only be undone by, that's right, the lengthy legislative process. Others would be subject to challenge in the courts which not only could result in reversal, or prolonged chains of higher court review, to effect reversal. But the process would require the language to justify change and Trump saying it don't make it so.

Be warned citizens, this man's mouth is to entice you in the belief that installing him as Executive means voting him the actionable capabilities of King, (actually Dictator). It is not the type of government we created nor want. Our freedoms, opportunities, security and comfortable lifestyle does not need the tweaking Trump would have you believe. It's nothing but a con, by the king of cons.

On 5-18-24, the Washington Post penned an article for: "Upside-down flag flew at Justice Alito’s house after neighbor dispute (as grounds for recusal), and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

If it is our Congressional Senate that sits in approval for the qualified certification of a Supreme Court Justice, then it's the scared duty of that tribunal to provide the continuing judgement for that qualification.

It would seem that self-evaluation of Justices by Justices is a little too close to home for building confidence in decisions. And if the Senate was chosen to act in that capacity the selected jury should be according to the rules of voir dire, not leadership appointment.

On 5-18-24, the Washington Post penned an article for: "What science tells us about Biden, Trump and evaluating an aging brain", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

"Biden and Trump, however, have been prominent public figures for decades and have both served as chief executive. Voters may feel they know them well enough to make a decision in November — and additional details about their health probably won’t sway supporters of either one." (Quoted from the news article)

And there you have it. The summary after all that read that leaves us the jury in the quandary we started with. Secure in our own judgement of righteousness with no discernable method to bring those in opposition around to our way or the highway.

Good luck America. You have every right to choose as you please. Just be aware that having that freedom means you must also live with the result.

On 5-16-24, the Washington Post penned the article: "Supreme Court rejects broad challenge to CFPB, a consumer watchdog agency", and on the date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

“This isn’t the last attack on the CFPB we’ll see from Wall Street, the banks, and their Republican allies,” Warren said in a statement. “When an agency is this effective at sticking up for working families against industry’s consumer abuses, it’s an obvious target for multi-million dollar lobbying campaigns.” (Statement of Senator Elizabeth Warren quoted from the article)

Senator Warren has continuously answered the call of seeking fair treatment for this country's consumers. Of course, that's made her into the favorite target of big business in this country who bend and twist words to discredit her efforts. I view her as a Saint in a house (Congress) of Sinners. If you believe in fair treatment, you should too.

On 5-16-24 the Washington Post penned the Analysis: "Trump’s ‘they’re out to get me’ campaign and its enablers", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

From my station in society, I would have to say I'm not out to get Trump. That's mostly due to a total lack of devices or cult following.

But, in my simple way I still maintain the right to say he's certainly shown all the evidence to have earned my "no confidence" vote.

On 5-8-24, the Washington Post penned an Analysis that "The 2020-was-stolen crew is here to stoke fears of noncitizen voters", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

The problem is the Republicans can't get over the fact that in 2020, the electorate got it right.

The electorate can't get over the fact that in 2016, they got it wrong.

On 5-8-24, the Washington Post penned an Analysis that: "Trump’s classified documents trial blown apart by (Judge) Cannon", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

What do we do when the "obstruction of justice" is happening from the inside out?

Monday, May 6, 2024

On 5-5-24, The Washington Post penned an Opinion that: "The Supreme Court’s Republican bias hangs over the Trump immunity case", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Trump is an entitled, crass loudmouth, who is more of a mafia boss than a suitable Presidential candidate. This court needs to understand that his main reason for seeking the presidency again is to stay out of jail and cease the efforts of prosecution for being a contributor to the January 6th insurrection.

Immunity from willful abuse of his elected office would be an endorsement for all the inhumanities committed by totalitarians through the world's history which a great number of people have fought or died to prevent.

On 4-29-24, the Washington Post penned an article on: "Secrets, lies and payoffs laid bare in week 1 of Trump trial testimony", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Tiffer, it's not you who doesn't understand. But a sizeable number of your fellow citizens seem to find satisfaction with Trump's personality and chose to ignore the immoral man's character. So, he performs only staged displays. Let's see the real character that comes out in a sworn witness chair of a courtroom.
