On 4-26-24, the Washington Post penned an article that, "GOP urges Secret Service to move protesters from park near convention arena", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Today Friday, (April 26th), is Arbor Day in the United State. It's a celebration of our nations' trees.  But more meaningful, it's the celebration of a wide spreading Elm shade tree in Boston being the gathering place for those early colonists to gather and discuss their displeasure with English rule.

Now we gather secure and pampered, in gigantic halls, ruled by power brokers and staged to display a colossal tribal theater to discuss our displeasure with our fellow citizens. I'm sorry. Does that sound cynical?

On 4-25-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Meadows, Giuliani and other Trump allies charged in Arizona 2020 election probe", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

The "unindicted co-conspirator" is the living example of how the problem started, was responsible for its intended results, and had the ability to cease the progress of its criminal activity results at any point.

The idea that thousands of US citizens are indicted or under indictment for Trump's reckless disregard for being able to accept the fact that he lost a certified election is absurd. Yet there are still those in this country unable to see and appreciate how they are allowing themselves to be part of that absurd theater.

On 4-18-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion for: "How can the media effectively cover Trump’s first criminal trial?", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

What's the matter with you people in the media? Don't you see that Donald Trump, (the immoral man), has already driven our Congress into a state of dysfunction and now is leading the media to add our courts into the same dysfunction? Wake up!

On 4-14-24, the Washington Post penned an article of: "New Yorkers weigh in on whether they could be impartial jurors in Trump trial", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

"Truth, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. It consists of an opinion held by a fragile majority who believes they can whip the other side."

Heard in the graduation speech by a student body president of a liberal arts college during the Vietnam war years. It has stuck with me all this time because it helps to explain why people who believe in what they consider their truth are sometimes unmoved by reasons of fact.

It also explains the conduct of attorneys who have a professional objective to represent the truth of their client, even as it may or may not be the stuff of facts. And why our system of courtroom justice seems to reward those able to finance a defense in the most exorbitant attack on the absurd.

This was proven by the OJ Simpson trial and has now become the mainstay of our political theater as well. Even more so when you consider that even news has now become a marketable commodity instead of the right for our freedom to public knowledge.

And that is what my eye beholds.

When a country such as ours, with a government operating with independently elected representatives that collude for power behind an individual rather than a principal or an ideal, they have abandoned their oath for taking office.  An oath that they are protecting and defending our Constitutional form of government and their alliance to represent only the interests of those responsible for their election.

And any man who would coerce them for the gain of individual power to be used for furtherance against the interests of a portion of the electorate or use the power of government and non-government agents to subvert the rule of law, harbors an agenda that can only be treasonous conduct. Trump is a traitor to the interests of our country and is manipulating others to follow his path.

And so say I, the Enlightened Prisoner on 4-13-24.

On 4-11-24, the Washington Post penned an Analysis of: "Trump’s first — and maybe only — trial is still viewed with skepticism", and on that date the Enlighted Prisoner responded thus:

You know, I still remember the words of Hillary Clinton when asked if she intended on testifying before the Congressional Committee investigative the Benghazi attack, "When you have nothing to hide, you show up and testify."

On 4-12-24, the Washington Post penned an article for: "Trump’s influence looms large over congressional Republicans", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Want something to believe in? Well, believe that what's good for Trump is not good for a country such as ours. Trump espouses naught but an agenda for a totalitarian, self-serving and selfish run government, not one that serves us all.

And yes, we are better off now than those four years of his incompetent and disgraceful attempts at governance. Why else would nature have thrown at us a plague such as Covid in which Trump's inabilities were so clearly demonstrated?

On 4-4-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion: "Trump swindles his followers — again", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Kind of creepy, isn't it? The way people are actually taken in by Trump's lying. It's almost as if they have lost their souls to a false god. But then how many of our citizens have turned over their wealth and souls to tent evangelists over the years? Only to find that a state of ecstasy dissolves when the lights come up.
