On 7-29-23, the Washington Post penned an Analysis | An ‘institution guy’ in the House, Steve Womack is fed up and might retire, and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Expecting to make a decision around Labor Day, he will weigh whether Republican dysfunction is “so unpleasant” that he can no longer “be a difference maker” in the chamber he loves. (About Steve Womack)

I recently heard it said by Republican and former Secretary of Defense, retired General Jim Mattis, "...today's headline grabbing politicians seem intent on committing to the suicide of our democracy. They have lost that sense of discussion and compromise that has served up our country's strengths."

On 7-26-23, the Washington Post penned an Analysis | "How often was Trump told that his fraud claims were wrong?", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

The Muller Report was right. Trump's 2016 Presidential campaign sought and promoted assistance from a hostile foreign government (Russia) to provide material assistance on social media sources in promoting his election. And don't for a second believe the (Republican controlled) Senate's vote on Trump's 1st impeachment by the House of Representatives exonerated Trump. All they said was we find him innocent without hearing the facts. We are the monkeys who neither hear, see, or speak to the truth.

The inconvenient truth is, that election interference is a violation of federal law and Trump's 2016 election should be properly declared null and void.

On 7-25-23, the Washington Post penned the article, "McCarthy floats the idea of an ‘impeachment inquiry’ against Biden", and on that date the Enlighted Prisoner responded thus:

McCarthy is obviously aligned with political motives that are straight out of the playbook of an extreme ideological spectrum. Hardly the stuff expected from someone occupying the exulted position he gained by knavery.

On 3-21-23, the Washington Post penned: "Trump prosecutions consume campaign funds and messaging as charges mount", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

“I have no choice because we have to. It’s a disgrace. If you say something about an election, they want to put you in jail for the rest of your life.” (Trump said)

Now folks, pay attention because those are the very words of a candidate who considers himself worthy of serving you? No, nothing but his own self interests. There is no element of truth in his words, and no room in his callous heart to serve the interests of a county the size of ours. His administration (shortened by the good sense of a voting public) was corrupt and incompetent.

These criminal indictments are not a vague notion of political expediency but rather fact-based and evidence laden accusations that will stand the test of judicial review. Trump deserves our upmost disrespect.

On 7-21-23, the Washington Post penned an article on federal contractor, "Booz Allen Hamilton to pay $377 million for false charges to U.S. government", and on the date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

As a public traded company and a federal contractor, we again are reminded how little ethics and public service matter to corporate management doing business with the agencies doling out our income tax paid revenues.

What may be even more revealing about Booz Allen Hamilton is to have published just how much of their management donations or corporate funds were used to pay lobbyists or supported the campaigns of what Congressional elected representatives, wouldn't it?

On 7-16-23, the Washington Post penned an article of "Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suggests covid was designed to spare Jews and Chinese people", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

It is the result of being a society that craves being entertained over being properly informed.

On 7-17-23, the Washington Post penned an Opinion | "The MAGA persecution complex is eating itself to death", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

A wise man was heard to say, "Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience."

On 7-15-23, the Washington Post penned an article for, "FTC is investigating whether ChatGPT harms consumers", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

The use of information gathered by computerized method has become a platform for misuse and abuse since its inception. And it is perfectly suited for a laissez-faire society that depends on regulations that come from a committee composed of 435 differing opinions from society's elected who must ignore the monetary benefits those platform companies represent for their job retention. Which cleverly operates under the guise of just another voter going by the moniker "Citizens United".

So, even if we seek and learn the truth, we are not set free but become more Enlightened Prisoners. Does that help you better understand the problem?

On 7-6-23, a Washington Post Opinion by Jennifer Rubin wrote | The most capable Trump primary opponent isn’t in the race, and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

"Trump — an unfit, unhinged candidate..." wrote Ms. Rubin.

No current wanabe Republican candidate has the intestinal fortitude to admit that a portion of their voting base is under the spell of this proven unhinged indicted criminal, so Ms. Rubin said it for them.

And folks, that's how distracted our political process has strayed from putting candidates of integrity, knowledge and compassion in positions of acting as stewards directing affairs in our great experiment of elected government. A government that provides for our safety and tranquility while not being intrusive on our own abilities to abide our life, our families, and our communities.

Instead, some seem to want power and control put in the hands of a mob who want to rule as they see their agenda, not ours. Wasn't the demonstration on January 6th of trying to take power away from our demonstration of voting the unfit Trump off the island convincing enough?
