On 5-29-23, the Washington Post penned an article Opinion | With this debt limit deal, Congress has beclowned itself, and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

It looks like everything that resulted from this Republican political theater called debt reduction are measures that would best be discussed and resolved at the time of annual Congressional budget hearings.

Pause and recall how the Republicans never come up with a workable budget proposal when required. Recall also that when the Republicans owned both legislative houses and the executive branch, little was ever proposed or done about debt reduction. Just like their false promise to tackle the infrastructure problems.

Pause and realize folks that an element of elected Republicans seem intent on creating this theater of chaos to appear like they're working to protect government when their motive really is working to project their image. One that is falsely projected as competence.

And now at a time our internal problems center on infrastructure, mental illness treatments, education and public safety, they want to increase spending for our war footing? For what, so they can again complain because other allied countries are not spending enough on theirs?

On 5-23-23, the Washington Post penned "House GOP chairman links his investigation to Biden’s poll numbers" and on that date a commentor penned:

"It should be painfully obvious by now to even the most cognitively challenged that Republicans in Congress are unable to perform their real jobs adequately due to their obsession to destroy their political enemies.

I see that as a symptom of emotional immaturity on their part."

And on the same date the Enlightened Prisoner commented:

Proof again that given a microphone and podium, politicians who only seek to curry favor will do whatever is necessary to expose themselves for how little they know and how little thought they put into what they say.

Gee, is there any way we could make that a factor of disqualification for public service?

(After all government agency employees would not be hired nor hold their job long if they displayed such conduct.)

On 5-17-23, the Washington Post penned: "Analysis | The truth about Russia, Trump and the 2016 election", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

"Trump immediately rejected that conclusion, but both the Mueller report and the Senate investigation affirmed it. Mueller concluded that Russian government actors successfully hacked into computers and obtained emails from people associated with the Clinton campaign and Democratic Party organizations, and then publicly disseminated those materials through various intermediaries, including WikiLeaks, to sow discord in the United States, hurt Clinton and help Trump." (Wrote the Post)

Those of us who read both reports could not help but reach the same conclusion. A foreign government directly interfered in our 2016 Presidential election. Folks, that is a violation of federal laws on the books already.

It's time to resurrect these facts and establish once and for all that the 2016 election is null and void due to this evident conspiracy and declare candidate Trump illegally elected. Nullify his elected status. Anything less is an absurd abuse of our responsibility to our system of government.

On 5-13-23, the Washington Post penned this: Opinion | A pointed message from one judge to nine others about affirmative action, and one that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

I believe that Judge Walton truly represents the best of what our judicial system should be, independent, compassionate, and intellectually attuned to the societal norms and needs of an advancing civilization.

For anyone who says decisions should be based on the thoughts and insights of those who constructed the Constitution, I can only hold you as irrelevant and immaterial.

On 5-11-23, the Washington Post wrote that, "18- to 20-year-olds can’t be barred from buying handguns, judge rules" and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

If 18-to-20-year-olds want a gun experience, let them be a qualified joiner of our organized militia, the military. Otherwise, they can use a barrowed weapon for hunting under supervision of an adult.

That's a common-sense approach, the idea that everybody in our societal organization needs a gun to achieve a protective feeling is silly. As a group l8-20-year-olds have one of the least cooperative attitudes for reporting or witnessing criminal or aberrant behavior to law enforcement.

Why give them a tool to practice the vigilante behavior overwhelmingly offered by their entertainment medias for such a easily emotionally manipulated group?

It appears from comments that the underlying public loss of faith and confidence in the SCOTUS is making itself evident. We don't need another damned poll with structured questions that formulate the poll takers' opinions either.

The receding loss of faith in the other two branches, (legislative and executive), to do the right thing instead of an appearance of pandering needs an outlet of accountability expression as well.

After all, we are a Republic, not a democracy, and there's been too little respect given to those of the electorate and far too much media attention to the monolog entertainment remarks of the elected and appointed. This is not how representative government should be working.  (Remarks by the Enlightened Prisoner on 5-11-23)

On 5-5-23, the Washington Post published "The polite struggle to do something — anything — about Clarence Thomas", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

To remain quiet which seems to be offering a perceived denial of malfeasance for the numbing amount of evidence being brought out about Justice Thomas, is a really pitiful display of political cowardice by Republican elected Congressional representatives.

This is the same lock-step approach Republicans took to the numbing amount of evidence that resulted in two impeachments of Former President Trump. I suppose they think that voting displacement of Trump is justice enough, but that only demonstrates how belittled their true stature of representing their esteemed office has become.

On 5-4-23, the Washington Post published: "Proud Boys Enrique Tarrio, 3 others guilty of Jan. 6 seditious conspiracy", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

“The verdict empowers the special counsel to bring indictments for the efforts to overturn the election,” said New York University law professor Ryan Goodman. “It underscores the enormous stakes in mobilizing Americans to believe the “big lie” and directing an armed crowd to interfere with the congressional proceedings.”

Worthy Americans, this judicial action against the Proud Boys is the proof that January 6th's insurrection was and is totally against the laws of the United States. Never before in our history has such a judicial action as this been needed or taken.

This opens the final chapter in this ongoing use of our governmental resources to show what a false, absurd and distorted representation Ex-President Trump and his minions have used to disrupt the peace and tranquility of our Constituted Republic and its democratic principles.

Truly, all that is left is for the indictment and conviction of the Snake's head which has done nothing but drive wedges of division in a country which he served so pitifully.

On 5-1-23, the Washington Post penned an Opinion by Jennifer Rubin | "E. Jean Carroll might deliver the first significant hit to Trump", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Now that's the kind of summary that adds importance to what this trial represents Ms. Rubin. For a country that stands on principals of truth, honesty and justice it really is time that societal misfits and language corrupting (read lying bullies) opportunists like Donald Trump are exposed and punished by their true civilian peers. His exposure as the dark side of our society is essential.
