On 1-30-23, the Washington Post article that: "McCarthy thinks he can find ‘responsible’ way to raise debt ceiling", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

“I want to find a reasonable and responsible way...", said Speaker McCarthy.

Does anyone else find those words to be an intellectual and morally challenging task for the Speaker's thin veneer of character?

On 1-25-23, the Washington Post reported that Elaine Chao responds to Trump’s racist attacks on her Asian American heritage, and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus: 

“Does Coco Chow have anything to do with Joe Biden’s Classified Documents being sent and stored in Chinatown?” Trump posted on Truth Social on Monday. “Her husband, the Old Broken Crow, is VERY close to Biden, the Democrats, and, of course, China.”

Anyone who reads and absorbs this representation of Donald Trump's expression of thought must realize just how deraigned and out of touch with reality he must be. Good Gawd, you'd have to be deraigned yourself to consider this man has any ability to govern.

  On 1-22-23, the Enlightened Prisoner stated thus:

The blog from Ballotpdia reported that in 2022 they tracked 232 bills introduced by State Legislators that would change the citizen-initiated ballot measure processes and only 23 (9.9% of them) were signed into law.

I believe that those of you in the MAGA Cult, being led by the deraigned, who really are the "RINOs" (Republicans in name only), need to get a clue of how a very large majority of the electorate are telling you to go-pound-sand.  And the Supreme Court cannot rescue you from that reality.  

 New details link George Santos to cousin of sanctioned Russian oligarch wrote the Washington Post, and on 1-16-23, the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

"Neither Intrater nor Vekselberg was accused of wrongdoing in Mueller’s investigation."

Those of us who have read through the Mueller Report, well know the report touched on several suspicious Russian connections with members of Trumps campaign. Mueller was cognizant of his role to bring attention to his investigative results but because it involved a Presidential candidate his role was to provide the preliminary for further Congressional investigation to draw conclusions.

The Mueller investigation was further hampered by the total uncooperative attitude of Trump's campaign members who refused to testify or provide records sought by Mueller's staff. Mueller lacked the enforcement power that would have been used by a Congressional investigative committee and discovery would have resulted except for the Republican majority in the Senate who stone-walled the further investigation.

That vote did not find Trump innocent of anything and the further consideration of exploring and validating the Mueller report has just been reaffirmed by this Washington Post expose. The Geoge Santos involvement is just another confirmation that the 2016 election was influenced by Russia and a full investigation may yet establish that Trump's election was fraudulent and should be nullified. And unresolved are the several outstanding warrants issued as a result of the Mueller Report accusing Russian members of their military's cyber intelligence group for direct involvement. They remain protected by Russia's refusal to extradite or make them available for testimony.

This matter is far more important that those numerous accusations of Trump's malfeasance and corrupted Presidential activities, or his immoral and illegal conduct as a private citizen.

 "George Santos has brought to the world of the US electorate the sad but evident truth that money and public media have more to do with electing our governing representatives than the ability to judge candidates by their character.

Until we get smart about our downfall as educated voters that resulted from the Supreme Court's "Citizens United" decision, and the lack of integrity that prevents our own elected officials from legislating rules that prevent the tragedies from the lessons before us, we'll continue to fall prey to candidates who deserve no seat in providing our governance."

 McCarthy says he’s willing to look at expunging a Trump impeachment says the Washington Post, and on 1-12-23, the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Expunge away McCarthy, you politically incompetent lickspittle. The stain of Trump's duplicity and malfeasance while in that esteemed office ain't never going away, bean-brain.

 Opinion | How the Dominion defamation suit against Fox News will test a Delaware court writes the Washington Post, and on 1-11-23, the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

I believe the court has a duty here. While the print media struggles for survival, not because it is any less a conduit of information that has turned phrases of information into entertainment, but because it takes a longer time to distribute.

We are a nation starved for entertainment now, and that obsession has turned the public service of legitimate news away from its obligations to a public service into a competition for the last man standing. It is time the courts remind the entire media industry the harm it causes when legitimate news is packaged into a vat of sour juice to assess its impact on public emotion and bias, not that it has served the public intellect.

 George Santos broke campaign finance laws, nonpartisan watchdog says, wrote WAPO, and on 1-9-23, the Enlightened Prisoner wrote thus:

The fact that the Republican party has taken George Santos under its wing as an elected Congressional representative despite overwhelming accusations confirming wrongful campaign conduct and his lies made in public forums, is glaring proof of their transition to an apathetic organization with proven disrespect for United States values. What shame Trump and his lickspittle associates have brought to this once proud political organization.

 A WAPO Comment was made on 1-5-23 in a story of the Republican chaos happening in the House of Representatives over the votes to elect Kevin McCarthy Speaker.  The commenter was titled WWII Vet's son. 

My father and a few million young Americans of his generation put their lives on the line, on foreign soil, and 409,000 of them died there. Riddled with bullets, blown to pieces, buried alive, burned, dismembered, disemboweled and drowned. All to rid the world of the same kind of fascist poison that contaminated our own White House for four long, destructive years, and still contaminates the Republican party. The accumulated disgrace and attempted destruction of our democracy is all owned by the GOP.

Some things said just seem to resonate with sad truth, this is one of those.

 On 1-5-23, WAPO noted: With the House in chaos, C-SPAN shows footage Americans don’t usually see, and to that story the Enlightened Prisoner commented thus:

In my 8 decades of life, I can't remember ever being so embarrassed by my elected representatives' performance in governance of our country. I have, in my lifetime, prided myself on being able to avoid the company of fools but, this spectacle I'm forced to endure is the most remarkable example of childish behavior and insufferable conduct I've ever witnessed. What are they thinking?
