On 12-22-22, WAPO wrote that, "Pelosi reflects on transition from ‘awesome power’ to ‘strong influence’, and the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

I've no doubt that history will be kind to Nancy Pelosi's reign as the Speaker for the People's House. She was afforded that position by peers who recognized her ability to know what needed to be done and getting there in a manner that reflected on her negotiating skills. She seemed to sense what best served the interests of the people she represented and stood tall in defense of her principles.

The fact she was hated by the pettiest of her male opponents is naught but an endorsement of envy for the skills they lacked. Fare thee well Madam Speaker, you have performed with distinction.

Opinion | ‘Conspiracy to defraud’ is the perfect charge against the grifter Trump wrote the Washington Post, and on 12-20-22, the Enlightened Prisoner wrote:

"Trump, our political gift that keeps grifting".

On 12-17-22, WAPO wrote: "How Trump jettisoned restraints at Mar-a-Lago and prompted legal peril", and on 12-18-22, the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

What a terribly selfish and self-centered person is Donald Trump. And what disgrace and shame he has brought upon this country's esteemed office.

Father of Highland Park shooting suspect charged with reckless conduct wrote WAPO, and on 12-17-22, the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

y quit with just parents? Why not go after the block-headed administration of the National Rifle Association? You know, the ones who promote manufacturing and sales of US made firearms with naught but people killing capacities. All in the name of arming a "well organized militia".

Well, that "well organized militia" appears to be disenfranchised young white men with the cowardly ambition of attacking the soft targets of our youth and their instructors at school campus settings, or churches, or retail shopping markets, or community parades, concert events, and night clubs.

While a significant portion of our population shows a detached indifference to making rules to correct the shame of this national problem. Sad indeed.

‘Dark money in politics an even darker place’ now, judges warn,' wrote the WAPO press, and then on 12-15-22, The Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

If the truth be known, the only cheerleaders for the "Citizens United" decision are those who would choose to perpetuate their ability to govern by fiat, ranking their decisions on the offerings of monied lobbyists, not the governed, or their parliamentary skills, or their commitment to public service.

Too many modern-day parliamentarians are little but self-obsessed exploiters.

WAPO offers an article about, "Before and after Sandy Hook: 40 years of elementary school shooting survivors", and on 12-10-22, the Enlightened Prisoner commented thus:

"Every time I'm exposed to the revisit of these school shooting stories, I'm moved to want revenge on Wayne LaPierre and the rest of his "block-headed" governing cronies of the National Rifle Association. Their efforts to legitimize the manufacture and sale of human killing machines that have become the talons for disenfranchised young social misfits who have used their cowardly natures to wreak havoc on our country by selection of "soft" targets of indefensible youth. In the name of arming our regulated militia?

And that includes those elected legislators who would prostitute themselves to being receptive for reelection funding from the likes of the NRA."

WAPO reports that: Fearing scandal, Air Force blocked generals’ foreign consulting deals, and on 12-7-22, the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

The US military has always had a reputation for exposing its members to challenges and training that gives them skill sets of exceeding value in the commercial world no matter if they serve 4 years or 30 years of duty.

Expecting them to "sit" on those capabilities and not capitalize on the profitable return and work satisfaction that comes with a person's desire to excel at what they know and do is pure bunk.

However, the proper application of that work being used within a power structure or governing entity with interests inimical to United States laws and norms would rightfully belong in the individual's moral judgement skill set.

And how many times have we seen that mental skill set fail to act in patriotic practice? And didn't we just vote a Presidential candidate out of office because of his moral and mental deficient skill set? Seems like someone took these generals to task for that similar judgmental error and they are reacting with the same infantile whiney practice we got from them in a higher pay bracket than there's. Oh yes, how money does turn our persona into a nation of sheep.

On 12-4-22, WAPO offered an Opinion | Trump’s call for suspending the Constitution is too dangerous to ignore.  And on that date the Enlightened Prisoner offered thus:

Trump is an abomination that was forced upon us by the unregulated purveyors of financial power hidden in the skirts of the Citizens United decision. His campaign minions manipulated the thoughtless drones of social media and religious furor, (also throw in the efforts of Communist Russia cyber soldiers), to a belief that tyrannical leadership would restore US prestige.

No, the Trump administration did little but add to the free world's disgust of our reputed arrogance as a country. And his claim to run the country like a business proved he could fleece our treasury for the profit he couldn't find in his so many failed ventures.

Yes, we elected him by default and paid a dreadful price for our political integrity. But his dismissal after a single term was a mandate that we found him unfit for the duties of office. It's time we recognize his continued presences is little but a curse that requires removal by insertion of a wooden stake marked criminal justice resolved, deliver him to the devil.

On 12-3-22, a WAPO Opinion says: Originalism is bunk. Liberal lawyers shouldn’t fall for it.  And on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Take note that the originators of the US Constitution were privileged landholders of sufficient education to read, write, and reason. They were also individuals who could pay their own way to the conventions for Constitutional construction.

They were suspicious of the churches of the time whose main intent seemed to govern their followers as they saw fit and, found it necessary to void any reference supporting religious authority other than the right to choose which to believe. The population was able to fend and feed itself, mainly because regulation and quality control was governed by the market and welfare was a family thing.

Personal safety and community security was pretty much left to individual pursuit. That is why they left responsibility for public safety, education, and infrastructure to the individual Constitutions of each approved state to create and arm their own militia or the means of self-protection from the uncertain wilds of totally new territory.

Should I go on, or are you beginning to understand the vagueness of a Constitutional document written in isolation of crystal balls or time machines?

On 12-1-22, Columnist Ruth Marcus wrote an Opinion saying Originalism is bunk. Liberal lawyers shouldn’t fall for it.  And the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

This is a very worthy essay and shows intrinsically why the Constitution is and should be considered a dynamic document. And why the risk of usurping that theory with originalism thinking is little but an excuse, not a reason.
