Opinion | Billions were stolen from the Paycheck Protection Program. It was a huge success anyway.  (On 3-30-22 the Enlightened Prisoner commented thus:)

Which just goes to prove, not all of our country's crooks feeding from government revenue are politicians, some taxpayers devise their own ways of cashing in on government's compassion.

 Conviction of Rep Fortenberry by California Federal jury trial results in announced resignation.  On 3-27-22, the Enlightened Prisoner commented thus:

• “After learning of illegal contributions to his campaign, the congressman, (Rep Jeff Fortenberry (R-Neb)), repeatedly chose to conceal the violations of federal law to protect his job, his reputation and his close associates,” U.S. Attorney Tracy L. Wilkison said in a statement Thursday. “The lies in this case threatened the integrity of the American electoral system and were designed to prevent investigators from learning the true source of campaign funds.”
  

And yet this despicable member of our Congressional delegation of lawmakers maintains his innocence based on what? That the evidence against him is false? No, that the investigators used slimy methods to elicit his incriminating statements. The count of Republican associates within elected and appointed positions of government and campaign supportive positions committing violations of moral and statue laws and standards in this past decade is not a reflection on "what aboutism".

It's a national disgrace that reflects on a badly under-regulated election process. And a shameless attitude about the integrity required of public servants in our government. As a country we should be better than this.

 Alas, the moral fiber of our Country's politicians has never been lower than that we're seeing in the MAGA aligned cadre. It's as if they're in a race to pimp themselves to the most ungodly and wretched tyrant to ever occupy the white house.

 So, now it can be said. Russia's incursions into neighboring nations are a study in military ineptness. That's what comes from having a selfish ignorant leader backed by an advisory staff that's dumb as a box of rocks.

Oh yeah, we just voted one of those off our island, didn't we?

 The US of A has a problem. It's populated with legislators at all levels of government that lack the courage of their word-filled convictions. They occupy exalted positions while taking positions that deny accountability. They appreciate the power and glory of the position but, have little regard for naught but the issues of their major campaign contributors. You question that? Consider the recent history effects of the National Rifle Association. An association now identified as a fiasco of corrupted principals.   (A comment by the Enlightened Prisoner on 3-13-22) 

(On 3-9-22, a WAPO story about Mark Medows and his wife filing false residence statements in North Carolina for voting purposes.  The Enlightened Prisoner commented thus:)

 Fraudulent behavior seems to come easily to Mark Medows, (and his wife). But mostly they represent the collective wisdom of the Trump associates who really are the cadre of Republicans in Name Only who spent their elected service time trying to unravel the two-party system of government in our democracy.

That collective wisdom was also being used to unravel our confidence and symbiotic relationship with our governmental institutions. The question then becomes, why? The Trump cadre offered no plausible plan for what was to become and, they certainly offered nothing but chaos as middle ground.

Trying to unravel our government by their methods seemed to produce naught but a scenario of militaristic control and suppression of all but a single head of government. Doesn't that seem to align with what our enemies have been after all along?

 Is it worth noting again that no member of the Trump family has served in the military of this country? In fact, Donnie's Grandfather left Germany rather than serve his required citizenship military service with their army.

And, the only army Trump has ever commanded is his pencil-armed corps of attorneys. And you wonder why I lack trust or respect for our dismissed President? (Comment by the Enlightened Prisoner 3-3-22)

 Jan. 6 committee expected to release new details about effort to pressure Pence to reject electors, overturn election results.  (Article in Washington Post 3-2-22 and the Enlightened Prisoner commented thus:

The election was stolen? Take note of the operative word here folks. The loud obnoxious claims being made by the election losers using the word "stolen".

Never a shred of evidence offered to the courts when they claimed the election was lost because of fraud and when that didn't work, they start their publicity campaign using election "stolen".

And, of course that word carries more excitement to fan the flames of the hanging mob assembled to witness Trump's last hurrah. Did it work? Well, let's just say you have not heard of a single case against all the indicted hanging mob being overturned because they were acting in good faith to right a stolen election, have you?

So, where did the word originate? Likely in a conference that included our esteemed council from California, Mr. Eastman. I dare say our Special Committee examining the events of January 6th has every right to shine the light on those responsible, including our civil servant President whose mouth was the biggest influence and deserves the most serious of indictable offenses.

 Rep. Lauren Boebert heckles Biden as he talks about his late son during the State of the Union and on 3-2-22, the Enlightened Prisoner commented thus:

"What a terrible legacy the Colorado electorate has created for itself. The intellectual absence reflected in Representative Boebert's rants are exactly the stuff that paved the road for Trump's overwhelming defeat as an unsophisticated provocateur, not a reputable politician."
