I believe the cause for impeachment of President Trump would have been enhanced if the Democratic Representatives would have charged him with "Conduct Unbecoming a President of the United States".  The amount of evidence to support that charge would have overwhelmed Republicans.

On 12-10-19, the Enlightened Prisoner wrote:

To characterize this Administration as capable of dealing with problems is the problem.  Since their arrival at the White House the atmosphere of community in this country has been placed in jeopardy.  Our reputation for giving a hand to those who want what we've achieved, peace, stability, and opportunity to achieve, is treated as a God-given right, not the privilege of self-determination.  The arrogance and indifference shown by this Administration through its Presidential leadership, is abysmal and has reduced our national reputation for wisdom and compassion into a nation of division and suspicion.  Corrective action is needed and it begins with us because this Administration has placed itself above and uncaring of the national conscience.  Now this President talks of firing still another FBI Director because he would not endorse the President's personal view.

In the days of J Edgar Hoover, when he was the top dog at the FBI, the issue of political bias was very much in the news.  However, in the case of Hoover, the bias was not directed at the political party, but at the individual who was thought by Hoover to be inimical to the interests of the United States.  Hoover's high-handed ways were exposed by the media and usually it was because of his own cadre of agents who couldn't abide such bias in a controlling government official.  So, my point here is there's always been an independence within the Bureau that put the interests of the country first. They are not and don't want to be considered agents of those who would abuse the power of a government office.  Particularly those elected with little or no concern for any public interest, only self-interest.  I'd certainly put the Country's welfare in the hands of the FBI before the political fortitude of the ineptness currently occupying the White House.

"It's becoming obvious that the multitude of lies told by President Trump make it impossible to predict which one will be his downfall.  It's a little like backing into a buzz saw and trying to determine which tooth hit you first."

The President's words and his actions to thwart and intimidate the legal activity of the US House of Representatives Intelligence Committee amount to violation of 18 US Code 115, Treason, Sedition & Subversive Activities.  Yes, he used words that threaten civil unrest would result if he were impeached.  And, he made a written twitter record of that.  No matter that he used words that came from another.  He wrote it, he owns it.

Furthermore, his activities to now are evidence to support the Muller Report's conclusions for interference with the 2016 US Election Process.  It doesn't matter that direct evidence of his involvement is not conclusively  evident. The fact is that several people have been indicted, several are identified in the report as failing to provide records or testimony, and there are many instances that would cause a reasonable person to conclude a foreign government was enlisted to help create a negative impression on Secretary Clinton and a favorable one for Trump.  And, all this happened while Trump was in direct control of his election committee composed of people who made the Russia interference possible, and conducted.

Now, the Ukraine actions, which he admits would influence the 2020 election process is before us.  It is the subject of a Congressional Investigation to determine grounds for impeachment.  Because our Constitution forbids any attempt to influence a US Election by the use or efforts of a foreign government.  There is clear and present evidence that our President withheld authorized funds from Ukraine in order to force their government to convene an investigation of a political opponent.  Even though the matter has been determined to lack evidence enough to be conducted.

And this is in addition to the obvious use of his office and its influence to enhance his financial gain while serving in an elected government official.

God speed our Congressional Representatives in their lawful pursuit of this criminally inclined demagogue because we have no hope for an independent investigation from within the Administration.  And, the idea of this being politically motivated is purely a smoke screen.  For an elected representative, this represents a duty to their office, the check and balance of one political party over another.

And right now, our government is in the hands of an unscrupulous cheating, lying, bigot who belies a threat to our Constiuted Republic of government by laws, not men.  This President and his Administration has caused irreparable harm and needs immediate removal and condemnation.

It's just a shame when those who govern believe their emotions are more important that the people they were elected to govern.

It's an arrogance that demands sub-severance and, of course that's unpopular.  It goes again a person's dignity.  (Enlightened Prisoner 8-21-19)

In the words of Sir Walter Scott:

"I cannot tell what the truth may be, I tell the tale as twas' said to me."
The Enlightened Prisoner says this about that:

Recent news has noted the FBI's release of additional information about their investigations of Trump campaign actions that would show connections with Russian sources.

Certainly there's reason to have some doubts about evidence when offered by media accounts where oath is lacking.  But, if there's one consistency you can take note of in President Trump's history of strategy to discredit accusations for his campaign's misdeeds, it usually follows a line of presentation which any seasoned investigator can tell you reflects on a pattern of guilty consciousness.  One of those reasoning facts is he's a habitual liar, and not that good at it.  And, during those lies he'll deny you any space or opportunity to challenge or rebut.

This becomes very evident whenever a media source relates portions of the Muller Report showing his campaign's association with those sources solicited to dirty the image of Hillary Clinton.  The President denies his involvement but, the Muller Report clearly amplifies a truth in those findings by showing the total lack of cooperative witness statement, or access to supportive documentation that would serve to exonerate this President.  He claims no involvement or knowledge, even though the whole sordid mess happened on his watch as he served as the Campaign's Management. Then, he frustrates discovery by refusing to testify and only answers questions in writing, usually by citing his loss of memory for events.  Yes, that's a continuing pattern of guilty consciousness.

How then do you explain Muller's record of Grand Jury indictments and convictions against the players who only represent the President's side of things?  Those indictments were for offering false, misleading, or uncooperative testimony before an investigative tribunal authorized by the President's Administration. Muller's findings cannot be dismissed as inconclusive for campaign abuse. There was evidence of a collusive design by Trump's Presidential Campaign Organization to manipulate the Presidential election and that certainly flies in the face of ethical or legal behavior which govern our national elections.

It happened, and it happened throughout the campaign as a result of clear and present help from the Military Intelligence arm of the Russian government.  They actively accessed our social media with disinformation on Hillary Clinton and supportive ads favorable to Trump's election.  How can you not believe that happened when 16 Grand Jury indictments have been issued on the record (as a result of the Muller Investigation) naming members of that Russian Military organization?  But, resolution of their complicity is compromised by the uncooperative nature of a hostile Russian government.

Okay, I'm a member of the United States electorate, and one that has lost faith and respect for the governance integrity and competence of this President.  There is nothing emotional or political about that decision.  I certainly don't relish the political circus of an impeachment indictment but, we have a spoiled brat at our helm who lacks the capacity for shame enough to realize he has risen to the level of an incompetent, and owes this country his absence.

"The man who counsels naught but himself, has a fool for an advisor."  Enlightened Prisoner 7-14-2019

Saturday, June 22, 2019

Comment 6/21/19, by the Enlightened Prisoner to the Jon Talton editorial in the Seattle Times, "The Appeal of Trumponomics Belies it's Heavy Costs."

If you believe that Trump's economic policies have been beneficial, take time to talk to any small business engaged in manufacturing products for international distribution, or talk to any family owned agriculture business that raises produce that trades on the international market.  Those are American industries in dire conditions and facing markets which Trump keeps in throes of uncertainty with bellicose threats and claims, and the higher taxes (for manufacturers & farmers) of those tariffs he puts on imported products or raw materials.  All of which require an "in-kind" response from the countries he attacks.  You'd probably find that anyone of those manufacturers or famers would feel they could have done a better job dealing directly with those foreign markets than this President who thinks he has a business sense.  And, constantly proves the theory that a man who seeks not but his own counsel has a fool for an advisor.

Trump's own business dealings were an indicator we should have been looking at more closely before the election.  His record of "stiffing" creditors, bankruptcies, multiplicity of civil suits, businesses run into the ground of failure, creation of falsified information to promote himself, creation of dubious businesses (i.e., Trump University), and, oh yes, inability to threat his fellow citizens with respect or decency expected from any occupant of the office he serves.  That's right, serves.  After all, he is merely an elected Public Servant charged with the Administration of the Executive Branch.  All his claims of being anything more need to be treated with the disdain we reserve for those underserving of trust or confidence.  And aren't you getting a little tired of these "brag-a-thon" rallies, tweets and controlled news encounters while the real answers the tax-paying public deserve are closeted behind a mind that serves naught but "self-interest"?

Evaluating the moral truthfulness of President Trump based on his governmental administrative actions is just plain silly.  You must consider that he brought no credentials to the table for performing this job of governance.  And, provides supporting evidence almost daily.

The President's lack of intellectual acuity is evident in every one of his tweets.  You know, those very early morning missives he represents as official words from the Presidential pulpit (you must wonder as I do that considering the hour just what room is he in?).  We'd already discovered his lack of wisdom and integrity, but constant flows of words so shallow, so witless, so disingenuous.

What's really scary is the number of monied people who supported the effort to put this mentally challenged man-boy into a position requiring wise and rational behavior.  Just take a moment to wonder about the mental acuity for that committee.  Or, for that matter, the corps of committed echo servants necessary to maintain this President's façade.

After reading through the now-released redacted Muller report, you get the impression folks that trying to get straight answers out of the Trump cadre to answer for their actions is like interviewing the local chapter of a Hell's Angel Club to find out who fired the first shot.

Yes, we talking about a President who suspended the practice of Press Conferences which further dilutes Administration transparency, then refused to be interviewed by members of the Muller investigative team.  Instead, answered questions in writing that were mostly labels of "I don't have a recollection of that."

It's hard not to show a bias about this President's behavior before and since the Muller Investigation Report.  His words and actions bespeak an outrageously guilty man and, why his associates and Party minions continue to support such conduct is enough to suspect a greater conspiracy to hide motives that still need to be discovered.

Why Does He Resist?

The idea of a Federal Income Tax was born in this country (circ. 1917) to create revenue for the government to provide the services our elected members of the Legislative Branch deemed necessary.  From it's outset there was an element of honesty required of our citizen tax-payers to participate in a fair and equitable manner.

But, over the years, for reasons of greed or feelings of hostility to the ambitions of the government, many have become tax cheats.  However, anyone who has had faith in our institutions and has made an honest effort to comply with the rules that apply to us all would have no reason not to reveal themselves.

Apparently, we have a current President who has not been playing by the rules or lacks making an honest tax-paying effort.  I mean, all he does is develop business and residential properties and collect the rent from them, right?  But why his reluctance to cooperate with what appears to be a legal request by a Congressional oversight Committee.  Sad.

THE ENLIGHTENED PRISONER (Let me say this about that!)

The Muller Report has been released.  While the claim I'm innocent is still ringing, consider this.  The recent financial crisis that almost brought chaos to our national market passed without a single banking executive found to be responsible.
While there's still a lot of lurking evidence out there to be settled, it's still necessary to point out that this President, (and his Congressional minions), are guilty of conducting one of the worst working governances of our country yet and, one of the worst wastes of the time and money provided by us, the Tax-Paying public.
And, I can't shake off the fact that the election of that wasteful period may have been manipulated by a foreign hostile government.
I await the outcomes that can somehow get us a return to efficient and ethical governance, God knows we've had enough of the other side.  The Enlightened Prisoner

On 1-8-19, the Enlightened Prisoner posted a Washington Post comment as thus:

"If you would just stop with your silly attempts to criminalize Mexico Mr. President, and remember that the drug crisis in this country is not the result of Mexican Cartel's marketing.  Rather it is the result of American citizen insatiable demand for artificial relief from this country's income inequities.  And, I realize of course that you probably wouldn't get it even if you could read it.  Sad.
